The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is a not-for-profit alliance of 23 of the world’s leading cancer centers. We are dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of care provided to people with cancer.
In this video recorded at the NCCN Annual Conference in 2011, Liz Scott, mother of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation founder Alex Scott, provides tips on how to talk to children about cancer gleaned from her experience caring for Alex and her other children. Alex was less than 1 year old when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of brain cancer, and 4 when she started Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to help raise money to battle childhood cancers.
