Since 1996, the adult oncology collaboration of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center and the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center has enabled some of the world’s leading specialists to work together on joint clinical trials, education, training programs and quality of care improvements. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute also works to advance the care of children with through a sixty-year collaboration with Children's Hospital Boston. Each of these Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals are members of Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Together, these institutions activate more than 15 new cancer trials each month and now have more than 700 active clinical trials underway. Thousands of patients each year are enrolled in clinical research trials which offer them access to promising new therapies and, at the same time, provide valuable information that may lead to better treatments for all cancer patients.
