Although pain is a frequent symptom of cancer and the one most feared, cancer patients should expect that their pain “is assessed, treated, and relieved,” according to cancer care expert Cameron Muir, MD, of Capital Hospice and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. In this video, recorded at the NCCN Annual Conference in 2011, Dr. Muir explains hospice and palliative care and says that cancer pain is “front and center” to palliative care specialists.
